The Curiosity Index: Week 17

This should have been posted at the weekend, but hey ho, welcome to a new week. I hope it goes well for you.

You should read these

  1. In a Post-Christian Culture, There’s No Good Way Around Being the ‘Baddies’Christianity Today reviews Stephen McAlpine’s book.
  2. Died: C. René Padilla, Father of Integral Mission. I first came across Padilla when I worked for Tearfund & he was one of their presidents.
  3. The Redemption of Justin Bieber. It’s always interesting to read stories of incredibly famous people who realise fame took away more than it gave and it’s the opposite when it comes to following God.
  4. Who is a progressive Christian and how is that different from liberal Christian? Roger Olson answers.
  5. The most dangerous place on Earth and becoming more dangerous because China is betting that the West is in irreversible decline.
  6. Prospectus On Próspera. (Very) long but fascinating article on corporate cities that might arise in low-income countries. Wouldn’t be surprised if this experiment is tried but other big corporations.
  7. Long mile. A helpful introduction to the Scandinavian mile which is one of those regional oddities you discover from time to time.

From the archives

Sexuality 3.0 – more freedom, less licence: “This present moment is not one of unrestrained freedom to enjoy whatever you want with whoever you want however you want (as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone) because people are increasingly aware that this usually results in someone being hurt.”

Have a great week.
