A few brief notes on life over the past week:
- It’s been a good week of running and notched almost 65km this week. First half-marathon of the year next week.
- We did enjoy season 3 of Reacher although it’s really a study in vengeance.
- Our Spanish exchange student had a good week but couldn’t believe how cold it was here in May. It’s like 10-15 degrees and I’m wearing a T-shirt!
- I’ve had Johnny Cash on repeat all week. His covers are sensational.
- Oh yes I turned 50!

How do you know that God loves you? Because Christ died for you. How do you know that you love God? Because love pours out of your heart for the things that God loves and God loves the church! The church is the object of His love. You cannot love your brothers and sisters by being on your own. Because you have nobody to love. And you cannot love people if you do not commit to them. You might like them, you might learn from them, but you cannot love them. Jesus commits to us and asks us to commit not just to him but to His bride, His body. All in.
