Devotional: Your children are a blessing

But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” Matthew 19:14

Our children are a blessing from God, even on days when it may not feel like it – like the day I found my two little ones hiding under the sofa with a box of icing sugar and a teaspoon each. But with blessings come responsibilities. As mothers, it is our responsibility to share our faith with our children so that they can grow up to put their confidence in God. (Psalm 78:8) That doesn’t mean doing Sunday school every day. It can be as simple as reading a bible story together, or saying a prayer with them at bedtime or before a meal, or singing along to worship music together in the car, or letting them see you read your bible. As we take time to share our faith with our children, God can take those opportunities to step into their lives and meet them where they’re at. We are planting seeds. God will cause them to grow.
