How practising gratitude can change your life

I thought I’d follow up on yesterday’s post about gratitude and thankfulness by exploring a little more how we can cultivate the habit of thankfulness although I’ll let Gavin Ortlund do the hard work. I remember after graduating from university a friend and I took the well-worn route of travelling around Europe by train. On some of the long journeys between various places, we would begin to count our blessings. It’s pretty difficult to grumble when you get into the hundreds of things you have to be grateful before you start on all the spiritual truths you believe. It’s also pretty hard to think the world owes you anything when it has already given you so much. So I’ve been doing much the same thing, ‘counting my blessings‘ for several decades now and I don’t plan on stopping.
