During Holy Week I shared some short devotionals with our church on some of the truths of what the death & resurrection of Jesus accomplish for those who trust in Him. As they are always relevant I thought I’d share them with you this week. All the prayers are taken from Fount of Heaven.
This is a big one. The sins that we have committed that mean we have fallen short of the glory of God; that have contributed to the pain & brokenness of the world; that have hurt others, ourselves and disobeyed God; all that has been gloriously, wonderfully, forgiven. We were in a dark place but redemption has happened through Christ. Our sins have been forgiven and we have been transferred to another kingdom, the kingdom of Jesus. Burden lifted, shame erased, darkness dispelled, sins forgiven.
Prayer
“You let us know that you have not forgotten us. You have not forgotten your creation. Out of compassion for our low position, you pour on us your inexhaustible goodness. You yourself redeemed us through your only begotten Son – who is unchangeably like you and of one substance with you. You did not leave the work of salvation to a servant or even a minister. You have given the light to those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death. Now we see the light of knowledge. And you fashioned us again into everlasting life, through our Lord and Creator.”
