This from Calvin’s commentary on 1 Thessalonians 1:1:

This mark, therefore, is as it were an approval of a true and lawful church…a church is to be sought only where God presides and where Christ reigns, and that, in short, there is no church but that which is founded upon God, is gathered under the auspices of Christ and is united in his name.

That’s my heart to see the church I serve be a place ‘where God presides and Christ reigns’.
