Being on the right side of history but not changing our mind

The debate over transgender rights or if you prefer over women’s rights, is the civil rights issue of the day. If the transgender lobbyists win the day it would represent another step (and a pretty big one at that) away from Christian ethics. You can find my posts on tracking this issue here. This tweet pretty much captures the tone of the debate – any attempt to defend the importance of biological sex is met by furious hate & threatening language. And as with almost everything these days the polarization of the debate is intensifying. Everything is a zero sum game these days, to the detriment of us all.

Here are some notable articles that I’ve saved over the last few months that would give you a pretty good insight into where things are at. The elites and the left pushing hard for a nonsensical position and to see how nonsensical it is, you should read this bit of biting satire.

The outcome of everything is unclear – and surprisingly that is good news. A few years ago, I think the triumph of the trans campaign was almost assured but they over-reached and now the fundamental contradictions of their positions are being exposed. The surprising outcome of all of this, may be a rediscovery of the importance of biological sex, the goodness of male and female and their essential suitability to each other. So oddly enough, if the church refuses to give in to the current zeitgeist we might find ourselves on the right side of history after all.
