At church last week I began a series called Counterfeit Gods based on Tim Keller’s book of the same name. Today I tackled the issue of love and how it can become a false god. As I prepared the talk, I was struck by how secure we can be because of the profound nature of Christ’s love for us.

The more we appreciate the wonder of this love, the sacrificial power of it, the cleansing, purifying, white-hot passion of it, the less danger there will ever be of another love claiming our hearts.
