At the start of the year Andrew Wilson laid out some questions he hoped to find better answers to during 2015. One of his questions was about getting some clarity about the issue of poverty. He noted that,
the Bible talks more about poverty and justice, and less about quite a few other things, than we might expect
Indeed it does. Many years ago I asked the same question. So long ago in fact, that there were no smartphones or Bible software to help me. Yet I found my method so strikingly effective that I’d still recommend it today.
I wrote out every verse I could find by hand. That’s right, copy and paste – monastic style. However, 16 sides and some 130 verses later, I could say I think I got the burning, fierce desire of God to care for the lowest, the last, the lost and the least. It made a lasting and life-changing impression upon me.
For those of you who may prefer a simpler method, my handiwork is below for you to print out and read.
