Links: Pornography & sex

I’m basically having a digital clear out of all the links I’ve saved which in theory I was going to turn into articles . Yet the reality is I’m probably not quite going to manage that. So rather than letting some good links go to waste I’m sort of turning them into an article by sharing them here. As always a mention here does not = endorsement, just that I found it worth reading.

In the early church one of the features that distinguished Christians from other citizens of the Roman Empire was their distinctive sexual ethic, which had much in common with Jewish practices (unsurprisingly). One of the noticeable trends in evangelicalism has been over recent years a shift from enforcing the what of Christian sexual ethics (mostly ‘don’t do that’) to the why of it all. Why the Christian ethic is more beautiful and healthy and compelling than any of the alternatives. This probably explains why there’s been so much interest in Louise Perry’s The Case Against the Sexual Revolution. So these links deal with the most pervasive issue for many – pornography but also other more broader topics around the distinctiveness of the Christian ethic.
