Moving to Stockholm

I thought I’d end the year with a big announcement and this is it. We believe God is calling us to church plant into the capital of Sweden. There’s a lot to do, a lot to say and we probably won’t move into Stockholm until 2012 but we will hopefully be in Sweden from summer 2011.

I’ll write up the process we went through soon and begin to post some reflections on that stage but this is a heads up really that soon I’ll be writing about Stockholm (and why you should move there!) and church planting and a whole bunch of other such topics.

But for now I’ll leave it there. If you have any questions just ask and I’ll try to answer them either in a comment or in a follow up post.

wow – very exciting – we should talk… my grandmother was swedish, and I’m doing some Langham work there in Feb next year…

That would be great. Where are you doing the Langham work? I’m planning on a couple of days in London in January. I’ll let you know, be great to chat.

A big announcement indeed! You’re in our prayers as you prepare to move. Do you know the language already or is that still to be learnt? We have a Swedish guy in our congregation, although he’s been in Northern Ireland for about ten years now. Hope the blog continues when you’re in Sweden!

Thanks Gary. I know a little Swedish but we’ve begun making a more concerted effort to learn. Our first year there will be focused on just that. If you’re friend is interested in returning to the motherland, let me know! And yes the aim is to keep up with the blog although I imagine it might start to feature church planting and culture and Swedish-ness!

Cool. Presumably not related to having merged your church?

    1. Simplepastor says:

No not related. That’s all gone and going very well!

As far as I know, Tom is settled and staying in Belfast – his dad is a minister in Sweden, somewhere in the Linköping area. Glad you’ll still be blogging!

Hey. My friend Fraser Keay sent me your info. My wife and I also just moved to the stockholm area just a few weeks ago to church plant! So cool to hear the Lord calling people to this place. We’d love to connect sometime and please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help. My e-mail is: [email protected]:disqus .com
