Know any good church websites?

In the very near future I will be working on a website for our new Stockholm church and as part of that research I’m looking at as many church websites as possible. I’m looking at others too, but I’m starting here. So here’s the question, which are the best church websites you’ve seen and why? Good use of social media, design, content, what makes that church website stand out from all the others that look the same? I’d be grateful for comments and links if you’d be so kind.

What everyone missed in ‘the elephant room’ controversy

A while ago there was a storm in an internet teacup about the second Elephant Room conference over the invitation to TD Jakes, who it is said, holds heretical views on the Trinity. It was quite a big hoo-ha. But that wasn’t the only thing they should have made a fuss about. In his original invitation (no longer on the site), organiser James Macdonald said, “I am also excited to hear him state his views on money, which may be closer to Scripture than the monasticism currently touring the Reformed world.” In…

Taking a trip to Wango-Bango

A while back Douglas Wilson held forth on mission and said, “What you practice at home is the show you take on the road. What you grow in your fields is what you load on the trucks. Compassing sea and land doesn’t generate a new message. The way you live when you get on the plane is going to be the single best indicator of how you live when you get off the plane. In short, don’t expect geographical location to fix anything.” He then gave the following example, “Say that someone…

Book Review: The Spirit Filled Church

What should church life be like? What values and principles should be evident to any observer? How should a church be led and who by and what gifts should we be looking for? These are the questions that Terry Virgo addresses in The Spirit-Filled Church: Finding your place in God’s purpose. As the founding and father to the Newfrontiers family of churches this is a clear and accessible explanation to the way Newfrontiers has attempted to answer those questions. As a, largely, contented member and leader within that same family of churches…
